South City Deanery PSR provides formal Catholic religious education (Grade 1 to Confirmation Prep) for the children in parishes of the South City. Sessions are on Monday evenings, September through May from 6:20-7:40 PM
Registration for 2023-2024 South City PSR year will be held on:
- August 13th (Sunday) from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Parish Center on the Campus of at St. John the Baptist
- August 21st (Monday) from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the St. John the Baptist Parish Center
A copy of your child’s Baptism Record and the $35 non-refundable registration fee are due at the time of registration.
First Reconciliation & First Communion is usually done as part of the 2nd grade curriculum. We also have preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion for students grades 3-8 Students must be in the PSR program for two years in order to receive First Reconciliation and First Communion.
Confirmation is usually done in the 8th grade and above. Students must be in the PSR program for two years (Pre-Confirmation and Confirmation classes) before being confirmed.
The PSR program continues and supplements the religious formation from parents, who are the first teachers of their children in the ways of the faith. They assist families in the areas of knowledge of the faith, beliefs, Christian life skills and religious practices, and strengthening the growing relationship with Jesus and his Church.
