Fr. John will never email or text you with a vague request to call him or do him a favor!  (While Fr. John might indeed ask you to assist with something at the parish, be assured that he will be direct and personal!) 

Sometimes folks with bad intentions try to take advantage of people’s trust in their pastors by sending fake emails or texts with a vague request to send money or gift cards. Unfortunately, this is a common internet scam that perpetuates no matter how often passwords are changed. Sometimes it’s as easy as checking to see if the email is from a valid St. Margaret address, but if you are ever in doubt a text or email from someone claiming to be Fr. John, a parish staff member, or a parish volunteer, call the parish office to see if it’s legitimate. Be aware and be careful!
