As part of our 125th Anniversary year, all SMOS Parishioners and School Families are invited to celebrate Mass outdoors and join us for an afternoon picnic! The Parish & School Picnic is a tradition at St. Margaret of Scotland, and we are excited to bring this fun addition – a Mass out in the park – to this annual event.
Weather permitting, we will gather for Sunday Mass, lunch, and fellowship outside that day at our beautiful neighborhood park. Please remember to bring your preferred seating as we gather for Mass, and you are asked to bring your own drinks and a side to share for a potluck meal with our community. The parish will provide the main dish and we will ask parishioners to bring sides, chips, and desserts to share. Feel free too to bring any other picnic items you like. The Stone Shelter is reserved all day, so you are invited to stay as long as you want to eat, visit, and play. This will be a great opportunity to give praise to God, revel in nature, celebrate our heritage, and build our community.
SMOS will provide BBQ (hot dogs, brats, & veggie dogs). BYO drinks, chairs/blankets, games, & a potluck item to share (see the list below).
Potluck Items Organized By Last Name:
- Last Name A-H – chips (single serving), fruit, or veggies
- Last Name I-R – side dish (salad, pasta, rice, potato, etc.)
- Last Name S-Z – dessert (cookies, bars, cakes, pies, etc.)
