Preparing For This Weekend’s Winter Storm

As we anticipate this Sunday’s Winter Storm in St. Louis, we wanted to be in touch about weekend plans at St. Margaret of Scotland.

This weekend is the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord, and Masses will be celebrated, as usual, at 4:30pm on Saturday, January 4, and at 8:00am and 10:00am on Sunday, January 5. Because travel is not advised on Sunday, Mass on Saturday afternoon may be a better choice!

Fr. Matthew O’Toole was scheduled to preside and preach at 10:00am Mass this Sunday as part of our Quasquicentennial celebrations. Out of an abundance of caution, Fr. O’Toole will return on another future Sunday, to be determined.

If you cannot make it to Mass this Sunday, please mail your envelope or contribution to the parish, or bring it next Sunday. A winter storm is the perfect opportunity to encourage all our parishioners to give to the parish electronically, so please donate or sign up here for electronic giving.  Giving online means that the parish will always receive your donation, no matter the weather!

There will be NO Coffee and Donuts this Sunday.
There will be NO Children’s Liturgy of the Word this Sunday.

The Epiphany Organ Recital originally scheduled for this Sunday afternoon has been postponed until Tuesday, January 7, at 7:30pm.

A separate communication about St. Margaret of Scotland School plans for this Monday will be coming later this weekend.

Please be safe and be smart during the Winter Storm! Let us especially remember in prayer those who are most affected by the winter weather: those who must work outside, including our road crews and utility workers; first responders and medical personnel who keep us safe even during storms; those who are traveling; those who do not have heat; and those who are unhoused. May God bring us all safely through the storm. Let us pray for one another!
