You might have caught SMOS Gun Sense: For the Common Good highlighted in a recent set of stories on KSDK Channel 5, in regards to the mass shooting event in Downtown St. Louis over the 4th of July holiday. Click the link below for details.
Unfortunately, our SMOS Gun Sense team never hopes for the need to be included in these types of stories – but the reality is that these shooting events happen far too often. Over 20 people were shot over the holiday weekend alone. That is why the work of the Gun Sense team is so necessary in the goal to reduce gun violence.
Join the Gun Sense team’s faith-based efforts. Get involved – and make your voice heard. There are a lot of things that parishioners can do to help prevent gun violence. Calls for changes to legislation for sensible gun laws, to perceptions of weapons in our society, to safe gun usage and storage, and to the underlying root causes of gun violence are all important factors in supporting gun violence prevention.
