Bulletin Article – August 20, 2023

Throughout the year, we present an article in the bulletin each week on a variety of topics, written by a member of our Parish staff on a rotating basis.

From The School Principal

by Patrick Holley, Principal

Dear Parishioners,

Allow me the opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Patrick Holley and I am the new principal of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School.  I have spent my entire career teaching in Catholic education.  I began my career as a middle school Language Arts teacher.  After earning my Masters Degree in Catholic Educational Leadership at St. Louis University, I became the principal of Sacred Heart Catholic School in Valley Park.  I am married to the love of my life, Katie, and the proud father of five kids – Ben (15), Logan (12), Edith (7), Mabel (4), and Paddy (1).

I am so excited and humbled to be leading this school community. We are working hard to begin the school year. The floors are sparkling, the hallways are painted, and the teachers are busy setting up classrooms in preparation for the new school year. I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to our maintenance staff – Ken, Joe, and Amira – for their hard work all three school buildings and the grounds look amazing!  This time of year is always very special.  There is so much positive energy and hope for the new school year in August.  Teachers and students are refreshed and ready to get back to work.  I cannot tell you how happy I am with our current staff.  I have the utmost confidence that we will have a stellar school year.

Please keep us in your prayers as we enter into this new school year.  I am fully committed to our mission of Catholic social teaching rooted in the message of Jesus Christ and our Catholic Faith.  Know that I am aware and appreciative your support of our school.  I hope to meet all of you soon.

Patrick Holley
Principal
