School News – December 8, 2024

Throughout the school year, we present an article in the bulletin each week providing updates from St. Margaret’s School, written by a member of our school staff.

SMOS School News

by Patrick Holley, Principal

Today marks the second Sunday of Advent, a time of year in which we celebrate the beginning of the new liturgical year.  This is truly a wonderful time to be in Catholic schools.  Our students are hard at work preparing for the coming of Jesus by creating advent wreaths, participating in Advent prayer services every Monday, and participating in service by collecting for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  Please pray for our students, teachers, and parents that they use this Advent to truly grow closer to Jesus Christ through the celebration of His birth.

You may have seen SMOS on the news recently. Our parish and school were spotlighted for our work with the Be SMART organization to raise awareness for gun safety in our neighborhood and St. Louis.  If you are interested, I encourage you to look up information on our Gun Sense organization here at St. Margaret of Scotland on our Parish website.

I am extremely thankful for all of your support of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School.  We could not do what we do without the loving support of our parishioners.
