Each week, we will be highlighting the amazing and wonderful things that are happening in our classrooms and grade levels at St. Margaret of Scotland School. We are very proud of the work our teachers do with our students and are amazed by what happens at SMOS. Our goal is to share more about the hidden gem that is St. Margaret’s.

8th grade finished the year with a slingshot/catapult battle which took place the morning of field day. Students planned and built their own catapult or slingshot and after 3 tough weeks we finally got to test our designs. 

7th & 8th grade did SPRING Foraging Workshops with school parent, Angela Wildermuth (mom to Leo). The 7th graders got to pick Serviceberries & Mulberries and looked for spring greens and other plants – like Plantain, Goosefoot, Peppergrass, Sour Flower and more. 

The 8th graders tasted Sour Flower & Red Clover tea and harvested honeysuckle on the school property to make honeysuckle tea plus walked to the former school garden to find more wild edible plants.  

TWO serviceberries were discovered fruiting on the property in front of the main school building on the plaza/patio area! They are delicious and safe to eat!
