ELECTION RESULTS JUST IN!!
All ballots were counted!
OREOS win over CHIPS AHOY in PreSchool!
TWIX win over Sour Patch Kids in 3rd Grade!

While the adults in our country were voting for our 47th President, our students were learning about the election process right here at school. PreSchool began the morning with a prayer for all moms, dads and adults who were exercising their special privilege of voting and watched Voting For Kids. Why Voting is Important before casting their vote.

3rd grade created voter registration cards and voted in a primary, narrowing the candidates down to Twix representing the Chocolate Party, and Sour Patch Kids representing the Chewy Party. Students campaigned for their favorite party by creating their own posters for their favorites.

By participating in an election process in such a fun way, we hope our students continue to learn:
It is important to vote – To pray, to research, and to have integrity.
The responsibility of a U. S. Citizen to vote.
To be fair.
To accept and support the leader.
May God bless America and the whole world as we go forth to create unity and justice for all.

Each week, we will be highlighting the amazing and wonderful things that are happening in our classrooms and grade levels at St. Margaret of Scotland School. We are very proud of the work our teachers do with our students and are amazed by what happens at SMOS. Our goal is to share more about the hidden gem that is St. Margaret’s.
