St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School is celebrating a significant increase in student enrollment, defying broader trends of declining population and school closures at other Archdiocesan schools in the St. Louis area. Current enrollment projections for the 2025-2026 school year show an anticipated increase of approximately 5%, marking a strong reversal of previous years’ declines.
Between the 2019-2020 and 2023-2024 school years, enrollment numbers fell from 470 to 442 students. However, the school experienced a positive shift this academic year, growing to 450 students. If the next school year began today, enrollment would stand at 461 students, reinforcing St. Margaret of Scotland’s reputation as a thriving educational institution.
“This increase in enrollment is truly something to celebrate,” said Principal Patrick Holley. “At a time when many schools in our region are facing closures, St. Margaret of Scotland continues to flourish. This success is a testament to our dedicated teachers and engaged parents, who serve as ambassadors for our school community. Word-of-mouth referrals have played a key role in attracting new families, and we are deeply grateful for the enthusiasm and support of our school family.”
In response to this growth, St. Margaret of Scotland is expanding its early childhood program by adding a fourth preschool classroom to accommodate new students. More details on this expansion will be shared as the school year progresses.
St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School remains committed to providing a high-quality Catholic education that nurtures academic excellence and spiritual growth. The school community invites families to celebrate this milestone and looks forward to continued success in the years to come.
