Principal’s Message 01-18-24

St. Margaret of Scotland Families:

As you may know, we are in the first year of the school improvement process.  This process calls us to create committees to answer questions about our school and create suggestions for improvement.

It is imperative that members of our parent community join these committees so that we can have your varied perspective in setting goals for our school.

There are three committees: Catholic Identity, Educational Issues, and Institutional Issues. I will give a summary of the committees and their focus.

Catholic Identity – The school is a visible faith community rooted in the person and teachings of Jesus Christ, enriched by Catholic Tradition, Sacred Scripture, and lived Gospel values; enhanced by the celebration of liturgy, sacraments, and prayer; and evidenced in service to others.

This group discusses faith community standards, religion curriculum and instruction standards, prayer and liturgy standards, and social justice and service standards.

If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Mrs. Gwen Heithaus at gcataldo@stmargaretstl.org

Educational Issues – The school community is child-centered.  The needs of the students are reflected in the practices and policies of the school.  The school is committed to providing strong academic and developmental programs to empower children to meet the challenges of living in an ever-changing, racially and culturally diverse world.  The faculty and staff of the school are faith-filled, dedicated, knowledgeable, and competent in their profession, and strive to meet the needs of an individual child.

This group discusses child-centered standards, curriculum standards, instructional standards, administrative qualifications, staff standards, and professional development.

If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Mrs. Theresa Lueke at tlueke@stmargaretstl.org

Institutional Issues – The school is committed to fostering a safe and secure environment. The school is committed to supporting parent(s) in their role as the first educators of their children and is sensitive to the needs and issues of its families.

This group discusses facility standards, health service standards, safety standards, fiance standards, and parent/school partnership standards.

If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Chris Stephens at cstephens@stmargaretstl.org

Please know that we will have to cap the committees to a certain number, so not everyone who reaches out may be chosen for a committee. I appreciate all of your help to leading the vision of our school for the next seven years.

God bless,

Patrick Holley
