Principal’s Message 03-14-24

St. Margaret of Scotland Families:

We had a great week at school.  I am so proud of all our third-grade students who participated in their Living History Museum this past Tuesday.  They did an amazing job at portraying their historical/fictional characters.  I was also impressed at the sheer variety of different people they chose to represent.  It was truly awesome.

Next week, we will be celebrating the feast of St. Joseph.  We will be creating a St. Joseph table in the cafeteria.  This is an ancient tradition where people would offer food for the poor in honor of St. Joseph.  As we are collecting for the St. Joseph Housing initiative, we will place those items on the St. Joseph table.  It is also a tradition to give out bread on St. Joseph’s feast day.  This is also an ancient tradition from Sicily where a town prayed for the intercession of St. Joseph to help during a drought.  The rains came and it became a tradition to give out bread on his feast day.  Please contact your teacher if you have dietary restrictions and need an alternative to the bread we are giving out.

It is my goal to have communication ready next week that will outline any staffing changes for the 2024-2025 school year.  This communication will include teachers who are staying, teachers who are moving into different positions in the school, and those who will be leaving us.  I will outline the positions that we will be trying to fill as well.

Have a great weekend,

Patrick Holley
