CIDE Update 08-29-24

This past week, we were thrilled to kick off our 2024-2025 Student Diversity Council. Students gathered for our first meeting, sharing numerous ideas about how to enhance the school’s climate this year.

Established last school year, the Student Diversity Council operates as an elective for Middle School students, providing members with the opportunity to advocate for their peers in inclusion and diversity (I&D) initiatives. This class creates a safe space for students to talk and brainstorm some ideas and develop a strategy to make our school a more inclusive environment. The Student Diversity Council is instrumental in a number of things, ranging from monthly heritage activities with the younger grades to planning and organizing school-wide events.

We can expect plenty more from this enthusiastic group of students who understand the importance of going to a school that embraces diversity and inclusion. Keep a look out for fun and exciting things planned by this brilliant and innovative group of students throughout the year!
