Hello Beautiful People!
I had a huge influx of emails this week but honestly, I didn’t have time to read them all. I’ve been so busy getting all of my Christmas shopping done that I’ve had time for little else. Am I the only one who didn’t realize that Black Friday sales extended well past Friday?? #GuessImOutOfTheLoop Since I’ve been so preoccupied with gift-giving, I started to think that you guys would most likely be asking me about what gift to give to who and when. Am I right or am I right?
I personally like taking the easy route when it comes to gift-giving, mostly because I am the worst gift-giver EVER! So, with that in mind, I want to let you in on a little secret, that’s actually not that much of a secret. Do you remember when you used to have to schlep around town trying to find the perfect gift for each of your kid’s teachers and then you’d have to wrap it, then you’d have to give it to your kid, and send a prayer up to The Big Guy hoping that said-gift actually made it to the teacher’s desk. All the while knowing the gift you bought wasn’t really what they wanted.
Well, lucky for you; someone a long time ago (actually it was in the aughts I think) came up with the greatest hack for teacher gifts! This gift-giving prodigy had the genius idea to create one big fund that everyone could contribute to that would then be distributed out to all of the teachers. This is just a winning plan for so many reasons:
- You don’t have to leave your house to buy anyone anything.
- You’ll never feel bad for forgetting that one Specials teacher.
- You don’t have to wrap anything.
- You’re giving the teachers a gift they ACTUALLY want (we all know they just want cold hard cash!).
Are you sold on this idea yet? You are? Great! All you have to do is click on this link and there you’ll be able to donate any amount you’d like to the fund. When the fund closes, Chris Stephen’s does some fancy schmancy math (which I won’t even pretend to understand) that accounts for full-time and part-time staff members and then it gets distributed out to every teacher fairly. This includes Art, PE, Music, Violin, aids, etc… if they work here, they get a cut of the pie. There’s really no downside to this guys! If you’re afraid your kid’s teacher will think you’re stingy, just send them a little note telling them that you contributed to the fund, they won’t mind at all! Or give them that homemade fruit cake anyway – but know you’ll be providing a backup in case jellied fruit isn’t their jam.
Ope! I just got an email that the Cyber Monday sale at REI has been extended, and I’ve had my eye on a pair of hiking boots for months now! Merry Christmas to me! Gotta go! Go ahead, hit the easy button on this one, you deserve the break!
