Stewardship Sunday

This Sunday is Stewardship Awareness Sunday at St. Margaret of Scotland and across the Archdiocese of St. Louis. On Stewardship Sunday, we reflect on and commit to being more grateful and generous – grateful for all God’s gifts to us and generous in sharing those gifts with others.

A Stewardship Fair will follow all the Masses this weekend in the Church Hall. Plan to come to share food and drink and fellowship with your parish family; learn more about our parish organizations and ministries; and have the opportunity to sign up for Flocknotes and online giving.

Nametag Sundays continue this month! When you come to Mass this weekend, please wear a nametag and get to know some of your fellow parishioners!

Every parish family was mailed a copy a copy of our Annual Stewardship Report earlier this month. Additional copies are available at the Church doors. Next weekend, a member of the Finance Council will present the annual parish financial report at the beginning of Mass. Stewardship season is a fine time to review and adjust your financial giving to the parish. Thanks for your generosity to St. Margaret of Scotland Parish! Let us pray to be more grateful and generous stewards!

125th Anniversary

This year (July 2024-June 2025), St. Margaret of Scotland celebrates it’s 125th Anniversary with a lot of revelry!

Over these next months, our SMOS community will have many opportunities to gather as a parish family to celebrate and give thanks to God for all the blessings given to this community over the past 125 years.

Gun Sense: For the Common Good

The St. Margaret of Scotland Living Justice Ministry has assembled a Parish task force to work on Gun Sense: For the Common Good.  This faith-based initiative will address the issues of gun violence in our neighborhoods and our City, State, and Country – both from a systemic and an advocacy standpoint.

If YOU would like to get involved and learn more about how to support this effort, then check out the Gun Sense info via the link below and sign up to receive further updates.  Together in one voice, we can say “ENOUGH!”.

Our Mission

We are a diverse, urban, Catholic parish. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and the example of our patroness, we are called to be a vibrant voice and beacon of the Catholic faith in our neighborhoods.

We proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action by:

  • Praying and celebrating as a Eucharistic community
  • Educating children and adults to live a full Christian life in today’s world
  • Serving others with unconditional generosity
  • Living just lives and working for a more just society

Pastor's Corner

Fr. John Rogers Vien has served as Pastor of St. Margaret of Scotland since 2021.  He has been a priest in the Archdiocese of St. Louis for over 30 years.

Fr. John writes a weekly article in the Parish bulletin called “A New Week”, in which he highlights various things going on around the Parish, focuses attention on a social justice or ecumenical topic, and challenges all of us to become better disciples of Christ in our daily lives.

Besides presiding at Mass or around the Church and Rectory, you will most likely find Fr. John out walking the neighborhood with his dog, Axel.
