Every year, the St. Margaret of Scotland PTA hosts a kickoff event to ring in a brand-new school year. Designed as a relaxed, joyful celebration, this annual social event gives our entire SMOS community a chance to come together, reconnect with old friends, and help new families feel right at home before classes officially begin.

The event has had varying iterations of the years.  Originally a social for parents-only, in recent years it’s been expanded into a family-friendly event held right on the school parking lot immediately following Back-to-School Sunday activities, serving as a sweet transition into the school rhythm. Families are encouraged to pack lawn chairs and blankets, settle in, and cool off with delicious ice cream treats. Children can run around and catch up with classmates, while parents mingle, chat with fellow school families, and build the warm, supportive connections that define St. Margaret of Scotland School.

Whether you are stepping onto campus as a brand-new preschool family or entering your final year with an eighth grader, the SMOS PTA Back-to-School Social is a beloved tradition that sets a bright, fun tone for the exciting year ahead!
