This season, we are focusing on EASTER FLOWERS for our additional donation request.  If you’d like to donate to support our flower arrangements at Easter, please go to bit.ly/smosgivenow and select “Easter Flowers” in the dropdown menu, to make your contribution.

At St. Margaret of Scotland, we celebrate the Day of the Dead in November – but according to one school Mom, her little guy is stoked for next week and what he calls the “Zombie Museum” day, which sounds equal parts terrifying and hilarious. What really goes on here? Let’s just say it involves history, costumes, and a bit more life than your average zombie crawl… and yes, Maggie has some long-standing grievances about being snubbed. 🧟‍♀️😏

St. Margaret’s was presented with the opportunity of bringing Junior Achievement’s popular “JA in a Day” program to our classrooms but your helps is needed to pull this off!

It’s been a little while since the PTA has shared an update, so we wanted to check in with what we’ve been up to — and what’s on the horizon!

As part of Friday announcements, Principal Holley likes to give shout outs to our students who get caught doing acts of kindness around school. We would like to share with you our weekly shout-outs:
• London F., Louisa H., Charlotte S., & Vivi S.

Chris Stephens is currently having health issues that have required her to take a small leave. Please keep her in your prayers as she makes her recovery.

SMOS Athletics is excited to launch a 50/50 Raffle to help raise funds for uniforms! Support our student-athletes while also getting the chance to win cash.

Call for nominees to run for School Board!  It’s time to nominate three candidates for the School Board to replace outgoing members.  Board members support School Administration by advising the Pastor and Principal on policy, budget, and planning.  The three-year term begins in June 2026.

We continue with our prayer, fasting, and giving for the Season of Lent. Here are the activities planned for this second full week.

In March, we transition from winter to spring, symbolizing the Lenten journey of growth in prayer, fasting, and charity.

St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School will once again be supporting our parish Lenten service project by collecting breakfast cereal for the Wellston Center.

St. Margaret of Scotland School offers a unique Middle School Electives Program, featuring courses on brewing science, government, logic, journalism, and liturgical traditions, enhancing students’ academic and personal growth.

King Malcolm is back, filling in while Maggie rubs elbows with a bunch of old spirits (not the bar kind). The newsletter is slim pickins’ this week, so instead of wasting words, he’s telling you: go enjoy life—or better yet, volunteer at the Fish Fry. Seriously, he says you need to show up, serve some fish, and pretend you’re a respectable adult. No excuses. Apparently, this is not a suggestion.

As the SMOS DEI Committee continues to honor Black History Month for its centennial celebration, the students were entertained and enthralled on Thursday, February 26th by Teaching Artist, Kunama Mtendaji.

As part of Friday announcements, Principal Holley likes to give shout outs to our students who get caught doing acts of kindness around school. We would like to share with you our weekly shout-outs:
• Lizzie P. and Pasha T.

The second Trimester ended last Thursday; grades will be available on the FACTS portal Friday. Students will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and attend Stations of the Cross next week.
