Located in the heart of St. Louis’ Shaw Neighborhood, St. Margaret of Scotland is a vibrant parish family of nearly 1,000 households and more than 2,400 members. We are proudly Catholic and rooted in the rich traditions of our faith, and many visitors quickly discover that St. Margaret’s is not what they expected from a typical parish. Here, you’ll find a community that is welcoming, engaged, compassionate, and committed to living the Gospel in meaningful ways.
At St. Margaret’s, we believe that every person has gifts to share and a place within our parish family. With around 40 active ministries and organizations, there are countless opportunities to connect, grow in faith, and make a difference.
Our parish is known for its strong sense of community. We celebrate together, serve together, and support one another through life’s joys and challenges. From caring for neighbors in need through outreach ministries and service projects, to gathering for parish events, fellowship opportunities, and vibrant liturgies, we strive to create a community where people feel seen, valued, and loved.
As Pastor Fr. John Vien often reminds us, a parish becomes what its people make it. Our parishioners are generous with their time, talent, and treasure, creating a welcoming environment where newcomers quickly become friends and friends become family.
