For more than 100 years, St. Margaret of Scotland parishioners have emulated their Patron Saint by responding to the needs of the Poor. The Conference of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Margaret of Scotland parish is a group of dedicated women and men who have come together, formed a local Conference, and continue to reach out to those Neighbors in Need who live within our parish boundaries.

Through personal contact with those in need, the conference responds to the stated and verified needs of its Neighbors by utilizing good principles of Stewardship as we assist those who need our help avoiding evictions, face utility disconnections, face unemployment because of inadequate transportation, suffer from disasters, and need various types of assistance to regain a steady footing in life.

Within our Conference, you will find various opportunities for volunteering as we respond to the needs of God’s Poor. Some of those opportunities have been narrowed because of the Pandemic, but the Conference is always open to new ideas and suggestions to further develop their Mission.

Pray for our Ministry and for Christ’s poor!

Open my eyes that I may not only see but also recognize the deepest needs of God’s people.
Guide my hands that they may feed the hungry;

Touch my heart that it may bring warmth to the despairing;

Teach me to be generous and to welcome the stranger;

Let me share my gifts with people in need;

Give me a caring spirit that the sick may be strengthened;
Help me to open wide the doors and to set those who are imprisoned free;
Let me share my anxiety and my love,
my poverty and my prosperity,
 as I reflect your divine presence.
Amen.
