Tornado Relief Collection This Weekend

March 25, 2025

Dear Brothers in Christ,

Peace of Christ be with you during this Lenten season!

In the wake of the recent devastating storms and tornadoes that struck our region, many of our brothers and sisters have faced significant hardship.

The damage has been substantial in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, particularly in Franklin, Jefferson, Perry, and St. Louis Counties, where more than 2,000 households reported storm damage. Our response to this devastation must be rooted in faith, love, and solidarity.

To this end, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis has been working closely with local emergency response teams to coordinate relief efforts. Through upcoming Multi-Agency Resource Centers in the affected areas, Catholic Charities is helping to provide vital assistance, including case management and mental health counseling. They will be offering a structured pathway toward stability by addressing both urgent concerns and long-term recovery and providing healing, help, and hope.

To support these critical efforts, I ask each parish of the Archdiocese of St. Louis to hold a special collection at Masses this weekend, Saturday March 29 and Sunday, March 30, to aid those in need. The funds raised will assist individuals and families as they begin the difficult process of recovery and rebuilding. Contributions should be forwarded to Catholic Charities, which will ensure that resources are distributed where they are needed most.

As we continue to pray for those affected, let us also be the hands and feet of Christ, offering them hope and tangible support in their time of need. I am grateful for your generosity and your pastoral care for those suffering in our community.

May God bless you and your parishioners abundantly for your compassion and charity.
