Please join us tomorrow (Friday) morning for Parent Prayer in the Hesed Outdoor Classroom! All are welcome.
Last Friday, our 6th graders had the opportunity to step away from their day-to-day activities and be on retreat. The focus of the retreat was God’s redemptive love, which we see over and over again in the Bible, especially in the Old Testament. Some of the activities were based on what they have been learning about in their religion class. The hope was to help bring some of the stories they have been taught to life and allow them to inform the students’ spiritual lives. Please continue to pray for our 6th graders!
This week marks the end of Black History Month 2024. As such, we wanted to celebrate by honoring some of our Black saints! Students learned about influential figures like St. Martin de Porres, St. Josephine Bakhita (our saint of the month!), St. Monica, St. Augustine, and St. Moses the Black. After hearing about each saint, the students were tasked with creating something out of playdough that helped them remember the story of that saint. We ended the lesson by talking about how it is important to honor these saints all year – not just during a specific month.
