Believing

At St. Margaret of Scotland School, our Catholic faith is the foundation of everything we do. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the traditions of the Catholic Church, we strive to nurture students who grow in faith, knowledge, compassion, and service. Together with our families and parish community, we help children develop a lifelong relationship with God while preparing them to lead lives of purpose, integrity, and love.

We Believe...

Faith is foundational. As a Catholic community, learning about and living our faith is central to who we are what we do. To that end our all-school Spiritual Goals guide us whether in religion class or out at recess.

Spiritual Goals

Faith-Based Activities

  • Weekly Mass for all students in preschool – 8th with prayers, scripture and singing led by students. Fr. Vien’s homilies excite and inspire the children, as well as the adults.
  • Prayer at the beginning of the school day, before snacks and meals, and monthly all-school prayer services. Additional, students in 2-8 are scheduled throughout the year to spend time in quiet, mindful prayer during Thursday adoration.
  • Preparation and reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are enjoyed at the 2nd grade level, and the sacrament of Confirmation is studied and prepared for at the 7-8th grade level. Although the reception of these sacraments are reserved for those children whose families are Catholic, our non-Catholic children are included in learning and living our Catholic faith, are invited to celebrate the sacraments as members of the choir and greeters, and are always welcomed to share their own faith traditions.
  • The liturgical calendar guides our celebrations from Advent to Christmas and from Lent to Easter.
  • Students in grades 5-8 are invited to train as Altar Servers.
