Weekly News From St. Margaret of Scotland School

by Patrick Holley, Principal

~ January is always a very busy time for Catholic Schools as we prepare for Open House, Registration, and Catholic Schools Week.  This time of year is always filled with excitement as we welcome new families into the school as they discern the best place to send their children.

As some of you may have heard, there was a recent announcement about South City Catholic Academy and its closure at the end of the school year.  St. Margaret of Scotland is preparing to accept as many of these families as we can to ensure that they receive an excellent faith formation and education.  Please join me in welcoming these families to our community.

I also ask that you pray for the South City Catholic Academy school community.  There is nothing quite like closing down a school.  It is an extraordinarily difficult process that is much akin to losing a loved one.  Catholic education in St. Louis is a very tight-knit community, and I imagine many of you are or have loved ones who are connected to these schools.  Please remember them during this difficult time and join me in praying that the students and teachers will be placed where they will fit in best.

Throughout the school year, we present an article in the bulletin each week providing updates from St. Margaret’s School, written by a member of our school staff.
