Youth Ministry service opportunity! In continued partnership with St. John’s Episcopal Church, SMOS youth help serve a meal in our community. All are welcome to join on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
While a meal is only a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to addressing poverty, inequality, and loneliness, sharing a fellowship meal together brings us closer to the reign of God that we hope for: a community of justice, peace, and dignity for all people.
This volunteer opportunity is open to all parishioners – young and old – so don’t hesitate to join! You can sign up for a shift or contact Chelsea Deiters (chelseadeiters@yahoo.com) for details.
ABOUT PEACE MEAL
On Saturdays throughout the year, St. John’s Episcopal Church (3664 Arsenal St., St. Louis, MO 63116) provides a “Peace Meal” to those experiencing homelessness in the area. They call it the “Peace Meal Project” because they know that a meal is only a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to addressing poverty, inequality, and loneliness.
