St. Margaret of Scotland welcomes Rev. Fr. Deogratius Kyara of the Diocese of Tanga, Tanzania, June 13–14, 2026, for the Annual Mission Appeal supporting the formation of future priests in East Africa.

Annual Mission Appeal 2026

On the weekend of June 13–14, 2026, St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church will participate in the Archdiocese of St. Louis Missionary Plan of Cooperation (MCP), otherwise known as the Annual Mission Appeal, a program run each year that supports the missionary work of the Church throughout the developing world.

This year, we are pleased to welcome Rev. Fr. Deogratius Kyara of the Catholic Diocese of Tanga in Tanzania, East Africa. Fr. Deogratius was ordained in 2023 for the Apostolic Life Community of Priests (ALCP) and served as a parochial vicar in Tanzania before moving to the United States in 2025 for further studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.

Fr. Deogratius will speak at all Masses that weekend about the mission and ministry of the Diocese of Tanga and the needs of the Church in Tanzania. A particular focus of this year’s appeal is support for the education and formation of seminarians preparing for the priesthood.

Please prayerfully consider supporting this important mission appeal. Envelopes for the Mission Appeal are available in the pews and at church entrances. Donations may be made through the special second collection for MCP-2026 or online through the Archdiocese of St. Louis Missions Office. Checks should be made payable to St. Margaret of Scotland with “For MCP-2026 Tanga Diocese” in the memo line.
