Help SMOS support North City tornado recovery by donating, preparing food, or volunteering for our final two community meals of 2026 on October 9 and 16.

Meals For Tornado Recovery Community – October 2026

Sponsored by SMOS Living Justice Ministries

SMOS Living Justice Ministries continues to support the North St. Louis City community devastated by the May 16, 2025, tornado — and we have two more meal opportunities this year: Friday, October 9, and Friday, October 16.

Last year, SMOS parishioners answered the call to provide meals for the food pantry at Centennial Church, which sustained severe damage in the tornado. Although the church has since been demolished, the need in the surrounding community continues as recovery efforts move slowly.

SMOS is now partnering with 314Oasis, which operates weekly at the 314Oasis Resilience Center, to continue providing support to residents affected by the storm.

These October meals are the final two meal dates planned for St. Margaret’s to assist in 2026 — and we’d love your help! There are opportunities to donate food, prepare cooked items, and volunteer to package, deliver and serve the meals.

The tornado recovery effort in North City is a massive undertaking, but every meal makes a difference. If you haven’t volunteered yet, there’s still time to jump in!
