Our Archdiocese is preparing for a historic celebration, and you are invited to be part of it in a very personal way. Through the Prayer of the People, each of us can offer a prayer that will be carried forward at the Jubilee Mass in July 2026.

Prayer of the People

As we prepare to celebrate 200 years of Catholic faith in our Archdiocese, we are being invited to do something very simple—and very meaningful. Share a prayer. Starting the weekend of May 2-3, 2026, we begin a special archdiocesan initiative called the Prayer of the People as part of our Bicentennial Jubilee.

The Prayer of the People is an opportunity for each of us to place before the Lord what is on our hearts—our gratitude, our worries, our hopes for our families and our Church. These are prayers for our families, for healing and hope, and for the future of our Church. You may wish to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life, for growth in our parishes, or for more followers of our Lord.

Take a moment this week to write down your prayer and place it in the marked box near the front door or offertory basket, bring it to the parish office, or submit it online at archstl200.org. These intentions will be gathered from across the Archdiocese and presented at the Bicentennial Jubilee Mass this July.

We invite you to take part. Let us make sure our parish is part of this united prayer.

And, all are invited to attend the Jubilee Mass on July 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis.

Be sure to check out Fr. Vien’s “A New Week” article from May 3, 2026, which explains the details for our parish.

Below, you can find a message from Archbishop Mitchell Rozanski, inviting all of us to submit a personal prayer intention, something you are carrying in your heart. There is also a copy of the prayer submission card (should you wish to submit on paper in person) and a flyer with details.
