You’re Invited: A Musical Pilgrimage to Scotland, June 2027!

by Orin Johnson, Director
of Music & Liturgy

~ It may seem more recent, but some may remember that SMOS Music Ministry embarked on a trip to Scotland, back in 2013.  Concerts were performed, Masses ministered, relationships formed, and sites specific to St. Margaret (the person) were visited.

Over the last couple years, I, along with choir director Steve Neale and our predecessors Peter Hesed and Terri Merideth — still very actively engaged in parish and music ministry life — discerned it was time to explore a return, enough time having passed since the last trip, along with enough parish population “turnover.”

Working with the same company as last time, an itinerary was created which retains many of the meaningful experiences from the last visit, and specifically adds many new adventures, sites, and prayer moments with specific import to our parish community, whether you are involved in music ministry or not.  Highlights include: • Firth of Forth • St. Margaret Pilgrim’s Way • Dunfermline • St. Andrews • Aberdeen • Inverness • Iona • Edinburgh • Scotch Tastings • Concerts • Masses • History • Architecture • and Ample Free Time!

Throughout the year, we present an article in the bulletin each week on a variety of topics, written by a member of our Parish staff or ministries on a rotating basis.
