To the St. Margaret’s Community: We are grateful to report that Youth Ministry collected $1,366.22 through the Mission & More Drive in February! Thank you, everyone, for your contributions of every size, both to this fundraiser and our other works throughout the year. This year’s donations will help defray the costs of sending some young members of our parish to the One Bread One Cup Conference this summer. At this conference, the teens have the opportunity to choose a track that suits their gifts and interests so they can be more deeply formed in the liturgical ministries where they might serve, both now and in the future, in our parish. In this way, we hope that the gifts with which you have blessed them will come back to bless our parish through their participation and leadership for years to come.
This past weekend, our 6th-12th graders participated in their Spring Retreat. Centered on the theme, “Be Curious, Not Judgmental”, our community examined the Beatitudes as well as Jesus’s encounters with St. Photini the Samaritan woman, the centurion whose servant needed healing, and the hemorrhaging woman. We explored how far we could push our bodies through high ropes climbing courses, climbing walls, and archery. And we spent a lot of time laughing and playing together. What we discovered is that encounters with Christ change us, and when we open our minds to curiosity and ask for help, our hearts become more ready to see and hear Christ in our world around us.
